Aussie Curves- Feminine

To me, feminine means flowers, dresses and lacy petticoats. This dress is from Asos Curve from an old season. I wore it to my brother's wedding- it's pretty and swishy. I teamed it with my lavender petticoat from Domino Dollhouse- more frills and swishes! I like the full skirt, and the colour is lovely.

My hair flowers teamed in nicely with the petticoat, I picked them up a time ago at Best and Less. I love the fullness of the flowers, it doesn't matter what angle I clip them into my hair, you will always see petals. I'm finding crocodile clips work really well on my thick slippery hair.

This necklace and earrings are having their first time on my blog. The necklace I picked up for half-price at Crossroads. I didn't venture into pastels until the Aussie Curves challenge. This necklace was a deliberate purchase in that direction, as I've found that some pastel shades actually do look nice on me. The cute little bird earrings were also half price at Big W. I love a good saving! The dress was on sale when I bought it too. Yay sales.

Aussie Curves- Spikes

I don't have much stuff with spikes, only a couple of accessories. I decided to put them with a peplum/pencil skirt combo. I'm trying out a more serious expression here just for a change. It's not really me though.

Ah that's better! My spike necklace was obtained through a mistake- I ordered the cosmic triangle necklace from Domino Dollhouse and received this spiky triangle instead. When I contacted them they sent me out the right necklace, and I got to keep the mistake. Great service.

My spike bracelet is from Asos. I like the silver tone, and being an elastic kind, there's a good chance it will fit my wrist.

My peplum top is from City Chic, picked up when on sale. I like the thick material, seems to be the kind that will last a while. I'd usually wear it with a belt, but I wanted to keep attention on the necklace. The skirt is actually a bodycon dress from Asos Curve. The material is too thin to wear as is, so I use it for layering.

Aussie Curves- Green

It was hard choosing a green outfit for this week's challenge, because I like green and most of my outfits are already on my blog. I finally decided on this dress from Millers. I love the pattern, it reminds me of stained glass windows and the 70s. Random I know. This dress comes out in cool weather, as the polyester type fabric is fairly warm. I stuck some leggings on too as it was cold.

It's a pretty loud pattern, so I felt like keeping it simple with a hair flower and some earrings.

Aussie Curves- Leather

The only leather item I own are boots. I thought I'd show off my new Autograph winter skirt while I was at it. The skirt is a soft warm knit, and I love the red. Very comfy- I got it on sale when it first came out. The top is from Best and Less that I picked up in the holidays. I thought I could do with a cheap black top, and I liked the studded detail on the shoulders. The boots are from Autograph- from the first time they brought footwear into the store. I was so excited to find boots to fit my calves, and that went up to my size 11. I've had them a few years now and they're still going well.

Unicorns and Galaxies

Finally, I manage an outfit post that isn't Aussie Curves! The weather got chilly enough to try out my galaxy print leggings from Domino Dollhouse. I thought an equally bright shirt needed to happen, and here we are.

My unicorn top is from an Etsy shop called Em and Sprout. Their 2x isn't quite big enough, it's a bit tight over my boobs and shoulders, but they don't go any higher in size, and I really wanted it. The print is so cute, and I've started liking pink things.

I got a 3x in the leggings but I think I went too big. They fit fine on my legs, but they are a bit loose around my hips. The leggings are a low cut, they come up to under my belly button. They are riding down a bit when I wear them, 'cos of the loose fit and low cut. I still love them though.

Had to show you a close up of my earrings, they are the cutest little strawberries. I got them half price from Big W.

Aussie Curves- Timesaver

Today's theme is timesaver. I'm usually dressing quickly in the morning before heading out the door with the kids to do the school run, so I appreciate outfits I don't have to think about. This gorgeous dress from Domino Dollhouse is one of those. Dress, bike pants, sandals- bam all dressed. If I have more time I'll add some accessories and some lippie. Dresses are a favourite of mine for time saving dressing. You don't need to coordinate tops and bottoms, and if it's cold just add some tights/leggings and a coat. Easy!

The necklace (which kept sliding around in the photos) is from Domino Dollhouse too. The dress and necklace were part of their last season's range, Astralnauts. The dress is comfy, looks great and has stood up to repeated washes quite well.

Any tips for not squinting when it's bright outside? I waited until an overcast day to take the photos but it still was glarey. Need more shade in my backyard I think!

Had to show you my earrings too- keeping on with the star theme of my dress.

Aussie Curves- Heels

For the heels challenge, I only had one pair to show you- my wedges. I'm a flats girl, sandals and sneakers are my main shoes. I have a flat foot, and wearing heels causes me lots of pain. Plus I tend to turn my ankle. Anyway, I bought these wedges from Big W last year, 'cos they were so pretty and they didn't feel too painful. I have to yet to wear them out of the house though, let alone long periods.

I'm pairing the heels with my lace dress from Asos Curve. I love the colour and style, but it's too short for me to feel comfortable (short dresses always ride up my bum!) so I'll be wearing it with leggings most of the time. I like the contrast between the light shoes and dark dress.

I added a light coloured belt and my pink necklace and earrings to tie in to the creamy shoes. I happened to have a hair flower that exactly matches the colour of my dress- scored for half price at Big W (all their accessories are currently half price if you're interested).

Aussie Curves- Pyjamas

This week the Aussie Curves theme is pyjamas (or pajamas, which is the American spelling). I'm a big fan of them, I like comfy and if they're cute it's a bonus. Best and Less came up with both, I can never resist polka dots!

I'm currently reading The Enchanted Wood to my kids. It's great that they're old enough to start hearing all my childhood bedtime favourites. I can't wait to show them Narnia and Hogwarts when they get a bit older.

Aussie Curves- Maxi Dress

As I prepared for the maxi dress challenge, I realised that I had three maxi dresses, and that all of them had been featured on the blog already. I didn't want to spend any money, so I decided to show you the same dress but styled differently. I'd worn my stripey dress before styled in red, so I'm showing you it styled in green.

The dress and the cardigan is from Big W. I wish Big W would bring more cardies in bright colours out, it's so hard to find them in my size. There were some bright pink ones in stock the other day, but only in size 18.

I love my Mario bag. I bought it off ebay ages ago, and its held up well. Strongly made and bright, what's not to love! My Volleys are from Big W too, from the men's department since the women's don't go up to size 11. They were cheap, about $10 if I remember correctly.

My necklace was a gift from a friend, its a brooch or a necklace. I wanted to wear it as a necklace so I cobbled together a ribbon using the loops cut off from my green cardigan. One of these days I'll get a long ribbon and do it properly.
